The Heart of Darkness

I'm sorry to have to lead you here, I really am but the journey wouldn't be complete without it. It's just so really important that we recognise the darkness in ourselves. Have you looked inside and seen the rage, the violence, the animal in you? It is there, I can assure you, however much we'd like to deny it.
I know we'd all like to be angels and I know how you struggle to cultivate your higher self. But the Shadow is there. Not in the Other but in us. Not in the terrorist, not in the criminal but also in us. If we don't see the darkness in ourselves then we haven't learnt the lessons of history and cannot hope to understand other people and peoples.

Take a good long look at your teeth in the mirror and the think way back along your genetic memory to all your ancestors who weren't exactly ladies and gentlemen but who tore live flesh with their teeth and beat others to death with their fists to protect what was theirs. You wouldn't be here without them.

When you think about all those ordinary German people who knew about the Holocaust but turned a blind eye and did nothing, do you think they were monsters or people like you and me? What exactly do you think they should have done?
Do you think the holocaust is over? Millions of people and animals are being systematically murdered as a result of our economic system. Are you turning a blind eye?

You know about Gehlen and all those other Nazis who were recruited into the CIA don't you?

As I say, I'm sorry to have to lead you here but I wanted you to see the black monkey soul and really feel the horror.
